BANNATYNE FITNESS CLUBS SUPPORTS LGFB WITH VENUES FOR NEW MASTERCLASS SERVICE

The Bannatyne Group, headed up by Duncan Bannatyne of Dragons Den fame, has teamed up with LGFB to offer support to its new series of Masterclasses across selected Bannatyne’s hotels and Health Clubs around the country.

This will allow thousands more women struggling through their cancer treatment to access the confidence boosting skincare and make-up service. The LGFB Masterclasses will run along the same lines as the core 12-step Programme but is different in that ladies are asked to bring their own make-up and skin products so that LGFB beauty consultant volunteers can demonstrate how to use them to counteract the demoralising impact of appearance-related side effects.

Sarahjane Robertson, Look Good Feel Better Executive Director, says: “We are extremely grateful to Duncan and The Bannatyne Group and we are delighted that Masterclasses will be available at Bannatyne’s venues. Gaining support in such welcoming, friendly locations will be a wonderful addition to our 73 existing locations.”

LGFB beneficiary Sue Robb was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and has undergone chemotherapy and surgery. A LGFB workshop helped her to deal with the distressing side effects of the illness and treatment on her appearance. She said: “When I was going through chemotherapy, looking after myself seemed a low priority, so it was lovely to have a fun afternoon with other women, where we could relax, throw off our wigs and be pampered. The beauticians were kind and knowledgeable about the problems we were facing and gave great tips about dealing with the effects of treatment, such as dry skin, redness, spots, losing eyebrows and eyelashes. I am really grateful to the charity and to the companies which supplied the cosmetic gifts and staff to help women at this gruelling time."

The first Masterclass will take place at Bannatyne’s in Darlington on 22nd November and if you’d like to find out more details on venue addresses and dates, or if you are a health professional, part of a cancer support group, or an individual who would like to host a LGFB Masterclass please email info@lgfb.co.uk or call 01372 474500.
