| 11TH ANNUAL CAROL CONCERT - THE SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS | |
14 December 2009
Monday 14th December heralded our eleventh annual Carol Concert - 'The Spirit of Christmas'. Over 550 guests packed St. George's Church, Hanover Square, in the centre of London for a magnificent concert organised by Honorary Life President, Richard Bradley.
Emotive and amusing readings were made by LGFB Beneficiary, Zoe Williams, Harrods Director of Fashion and Beauty, Marigay McKee and Richard Bradley. Richard's wonderfully humerous tale of a politically correct Christmas caused great amusement. LGFB Chairman Susan Taylor thanked everyone who had made the 15th Anniversary year so successful - member companies, retailers, the media, volunteer beauty consultants, hospital staff and the team at LGFB Head Office. We are delighted to report that the event has raised a record £14,000. STOP PRESS - next year's 12th annual carol concert will take place on Monday 13th December 2010.

Our irrepressible conductor, Ivor Setterfield and Barts Choir were joined by soprano, Angela Henckel and young stars of the future, Annie Yim (piano), Satoko Fukuda (violin) and Robert Anthony Gardiner (tenor). Annie's magnificent rendition of Paganini's La Campanella and Satoko's Flight of the Bumblebee stole the show, especially when Satoko walked all the way around the aisles of the church whilst playing.
