LGFB Beneficiary Stories

We recently asked some of our Beneficiaries who had been to one of our Workshops to tell us how they felt both before and after the two hour session.

We are extremely grateful to them for their generosity and openness and their willingness to share their thoughts and to let other women know how Look Good Feel Better had helped them in a variety of ways.

Fiona, LGFB Beneficiary

Fiona was told about Look Good Feel Better by a Macmillan Counsellor. "I've never attended a workshop/support group event before, so felt it might not be for me, and particularly as I was very depressed at the time, but LGFB lifted me out of my depression. It made me feel like a woman again. I didn't feel isolated anymore; I felt less 'branded' and ugly. Seeing all those ladies happy and living their lives. The whole experience was outstanding. It's not just about a bit of make-up, it's not vanity - it's about control. It gives women the strength to fight this horrible disease."

Jackie, LGFB Beneficiary

Look Good Feel Better Beneficiary Jackie says "I found the LGFB workshop very beneficial in terms of boosting my confidence in wearing make-up products I wouldn't normally try and helping me to discover how to make the best of my appearance. It certainly helped to 'cut out the cancer label' and gave me a tremendous lift."

Lesley, LGFB Beneficiary

Lesley says "It was a great event, everyone was easy to get on with and we had lots of laughs. I don't think you can under-estimate the effect make-up can have - the smallest thing can make you feel better. Look Good Feel Better may not be curing cancer but it certainly helps you to have a positive mental attitude."
