Look Good Feel Better

February Star Fundraiser

Esther Timson has been nominated as the Look Good Feel Better Star Fundraiser for February.

A loyal supporter, Esther will be running the Sheffield 10K in May to support Look Good Feel Better following her mum’s cancer diagnosis in 2019 and her dad’s cancer diagnosis in 2020.

Fast forward to 2022, both parents have been given the all clear and Esther is well on the way to reaching her £1,000 fundraising target and has been keeping up her training, even doing the Alton Towers 5K before Christmas to get in a practice run!

Esther said:

“19th October 2019 will go down in my memory as an evening I’ll never forget. It’s the day my fit and healthy mum sat me down to tell me she had been diagnosed with advanced breast cancer. To say it was a shock would be an enormous understatement.

As the weeks went by and the chemo began to take it’s toll, I remember she received a letter from Look Good Feel Better inviting her to a free workshop at Walsgrave to learn how to apply makeup to skin which is sensitive to chemo.

In July 2020, my dad was then diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer but I am pleased to say both my parents have now finished their cancer treatments.

I’m not a natural runner, the most I’ve ever done is 5k, but I am excited to have the opportunity to give a little back to this amazing charity who helped my mum face the world on some of her difficult days.”
