A dedicated class focusing on simple, practical tips and techniques for your hand and nail care. Step-by-step guidance provided on how to give yourself a manicure and advice for managing dry, split, sensitive nails and ridges due to treatment.
Hair Loss, Scalp Care & New Growth
A practical workshop presented by partner charity, Cancer Hair Care, with expert advice and support on hair loss, how and when to safely colour your hair and what to expect with new hair growth.
The session also covers advice on daily scalp care and moisturising, safe scalp massage and how to create an ideal platform for new hair growth whilst undergoing treatment.
Headwear, Wigs, Brows & Lashes
A practical workshop presented by partner charity, Cancer Hair Care, with expert advice and support on headwear options, hair loss accessories and how to deal with eyebrow and eyelash loss.
The session also covers advice on choosing an NHS wig, wig washing and care, as well as styling tips and recommended products and suppliers.
Styling for Confidence
This new workshop, held by style experts, aims to help you come to terms with the ‘new you’ by giving tips for understanding colours and how these can impact the way you look, identifying your body shape and how to best dress for it, as well as personalising your style. Every session offers an opportunity to meet others in a similar situation and provides you with tools to implement the changes you may need to feel comfortable and confident with your body again.
Mat Pilates
Our volunteer, Janice Watson, is a Northampton based Pilates instructor with over 20 years’ experience in the fitness industry. This workshop is an intermediate session aimed to increase coordination; gradually increase flexibility and mobility; reduce risk of injury and practice controlled breathing techniques all from the comfort of your home!
Chair Tai Chi & Qigong
Jan Roberts, who runs the sessions, is passionate about Tai Chi and has been teaching Tai Chi and Qigong for the past 15 years, having completed a six-year teacher training course run by the President of the British Council of Chinese Martial Arts.
Tai Chi is a martial art but these days it is practised for health and wellbeing. Although usually performed standing, it can still be very beneficial if performed whilst seated.
Meditation & Breathwork
Meditation and breathwork is about more than just relaxing. Jess Holliday, who runs the session, has worked with people on the cancer journey using these tools as part of a holistic approach to wellness and transformation.
The session aims to reduce anxiety, increase feelings of calm and relaxation and access altered states of consciousness through meditation, quieting our busy minds and increasing a sense of inner peace and present moment awareness.
Chair Yoga
Naomi is a yoga and meditation teacher from bonnie Scotland. She has been practicing yoga for over 10 years and teaching for a little over 3 years. The sense of calm and clarity that comes from a few moments of stillness never fails to amaze Naomi and she is passionate about teaching beginners and people looking to develop their own yoga practice.
Virtual Living Yoga
The aim is to teach you breathing techniques and provide you with useful tools, so you have some control over your body, mind and breath to help you to relax and ease anxiety levels, bringing a profound sense of peace and tranquillity. These simple breathing techniques are so adaptable and gentle that they can be put into practice whenever you feel they are needed.
Movement and Mobility
This session is suitable for everyone, men and women, and offers progressive exercises with background music to move along with. Belinda is passionate about helping you improve your quality of Movement & Mobility whilst having fun. Her dance background and personality can’t help but lift you up when you are with her in this session. The class is seated and standing using a chair for support.
