Look Good Feel Better

“The workshop introduces you to new techniques and new products, so you can experiment and really feel so much better about yourself again.”

Tina’s mother was one of the first beneficiaries of Look Good Feel Better, after the charity first started offering free workshops for people undergoing treatment for cancer in the early 90s. In 2023, Tina herself attended a skincare and make-up workshop.

“I remember when I was a young woman, in 1995, my mother attended a Look Good Feel Better workshop. She had ovarian cancer at the time and I can still remember her coming back home with all her lotions and potions. She seemed very positive and happy afterwards.

I loved the workshop. I had no hair at all and was totally bald, so of course that made me look ill.  In the group session, I was taught how to create eyebrows where there were none. When I learned how to fill them in properly, I felt a bit of the real me coming back.  I could recognise myself again!”

Tina, who has two grown-up children, is married and lives in Kent. She says:

“The workshop gives hope that you haven’t lost yourself and that the hair will come back.  The tuition was so helpful – the eyebrows didn’t look at all drawn on.  Instead, the very friendly facilitators showed us how to maximise the effect with short, light touches and they demonstrated exactly where to position the eyebrows, so it looked really authentic.

When I drew the eyeliner on, I actually felt that it was good to feel like me, to look like me again.  It was so lovely to see all the others in the group come alive, too.

The workshop introduces you to new techniques and new products, so you can experiment and really feel so much better about yourself again.”

Thank you, Tina – we are so pleased that the workshop was of help to you and your mother!
