Look Good Feel Better

Spring Star Fundraisers

This Spring we want to shine a light on some of the amazing individuals and organisations who have generously donated, conquered the miles, represented the charity and gone above and beyond to help raise vital funds and awareness for Look Good Feel Better.

A huge thank you to Toyota Manufacturing UK Charitable Trust for their generous £3,000 donation to support our workshops in Derby. Tim Freeman, Trustee and Deputy Managing Director at Toyota Manufacturing UK commented: “This is our best year ever for fundraising and we are extremely proud to support some amazing causes, including Look Good Feel Better, a fantastic charity making a difference in our local community”.

Lu Wright and Lisa Tennant, two of our amazing volunteers at Royal Derby Hospital, attended the Trust’s Celebration Event in March and accepted our cheque on the charity’s behalf.

London Marathon Legends

A huge congratulations and thank you to two inspiring ladies, Janet Williams and Andrea Reed, who completed the London Marathon on Sunday 21st April. Both Janet and Andrea secured their own marathon places through the general ballot and opted to run in aid of Look Good Feel Better following their  personal experiences with the charity. Janet ran in recognition of the support we gave to one of her close friends and Andrea, who attended our workshops, raised funds for us plus two other charities who supported her during her cancer treatment. Collectively, Janet and Andrea have raised over £1,400!

Half Marathon Heroes

On 7th April, Lauren Watters and Matt Smith pounded the 13.1 miles of the London Landmarks Half, collectively raising over £1,200 which will help fund workshop places for 25 people living with cancer.

Matt ran in recognition of the support his wife Denise received during her cancer treatment.

“During my wife’s treatment, Look Good Feel Better helped her regain some of herself that she had lost. They gave her some of her identity back. She was so much happier, more confident and proud of what she had achieved after their make-up and skincare workshop. They do just what they say on the tin.”

Superstar volunteer, Nicola Redman also laced up her trainers earlier this Spring, completing the Bath Two Tunnels Race and raising a fantastic £350.

“I loved being a part of the Two Tunnels Race – it was definitely harder than I thought it would be! But it felt so good to be able to do something that would help Look Good Feel Better. It’s a charity close to my heart and I’ve since been volunteering at the Exeter sessions and I’m really enjoying being able to be a part of this too!”
