Look Good Feel Better

“I have recommended this to so many people as it’s the best therapy I have had on my journey. Being with people who understand each other is so helpful, I didn’t feel alone when I left.”

Amanda Hart tells us what attending a skincare and make-up workshop meant to her:

“The Look Good Feel Better workshop was inspirational.  I went to a workshop held at the Marsden, which was being hosted by a man called Trevor.   He welcomed me and about ten others. Our make-up and skincare products were laid out in front of us, and Trevor explained what we were going to do, which included first cleansing and then hydrating our skin.

“I was feeling vulnerable and wore a cotton hat over my bald head, and when I looked around there were women at all different stages of their treatment and some others were also wearing head coverings.  As time went by, I started to relax and I felt comfortable enough to remove my hat.

“That simple gesture had such a big impact and other ladies also took off their hats. We were able to do so here, because we felt comfortable and unjudged, and that meant the world.

“One lady who had a few long whispy strands of hair asked me: “What shall I do?”  I said I had cut my hair as short as I could, because I felt it looked better.

“Trevor was so reassuring, cleansing after each demo and keeping a distance when possible. This was so important to us all. Trevor showed us how to apply make-up to create an illusion of eye lashes and eyebrows, which was fantastic.  He explained everything and joked with us, and the group came alive and we were all giving each other advice and telling our stories. I came out of the Look Good Feel Better workshop feeling and looking refreshed in so many ways.

“I have recommended this to so many people as it’s the best therapy I have had on my journey. Being with people who understand each other is so helpful, I didn’t feel alone when I left.”

Thank you, Amanda, we are pleased you felt the workshop was helpful.
