A huge thank you to Grangers Charitable Foundation
Karolina Jones, now in her early sixties, was working at Grangers International in Derbyshire when she was diagnosed with breast cancer for the first time during Christmas 2008, and then again for the second time during Christmas 2012.
While Karolina was undergoing extensive treatments, including radio and chemo therapy throughout those years, Look Good Feel Better workshops provided her with the extra support she needed. She says:
“Everyone was in the workshop together, talking, supporting each other, helping each other. Some people were there in wheelchairs and the overall feeling was warm and welcoming. The memories of the sessions are still held very dear to me and I thought, if ever I can support a charity, this is the one.”
So when Grangers International, who provide products to protect clothing, footwear and equipment against the elements, and are brand owners of Cherry Blossom, Grangers and Fabsil, recently set up the Grangers Charitable Foundation, Karolina suggested Look Good Feel Better as a suitable recipient.
The generous donation of £10,000 will make a huge difference and will enable 27 new face-to-face workshops to support up to 270 people undergoing treatment for cancer.
We are delighted to say that Karolina has now been cancer-free for over 10 years. She continues to work hard at the company at senior management level, but also to enjoy her life with her husband and her daughter, who got married earlier this year.
“It’s all about making the most of every day,” she says. And we totally agree with that. Thank you to Karolina and Grangers International for their incredible generosity!
