Homebuilder Donates £1,500 To Look Good Feel Better
Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes North Scotland has made a £1,500 donation to Look Good Feel Better.
The donation will enable an additional 30 people undergoing treatment for cancer in the area to attend a workshop at Maggie’s Centre in Aberdeen.
Ian Daniels, Director of Fundraising and Head of Communications at Look Good Feel Better, said: “We are very grateful to Barratt Homes North Scotland for donating such a considerable sum of money. According to Public Health Scotland, there were 16,438 deaths caused by cancer in Scotland in 2021, and cancer remains the main cause of death. Demand for our specialist services continues to grow.
“All donations make a difference: £50 funds a seat at one of our workshops, while £500 funds an entire face-to-face workshop for up to 10 people, helping restore their confidence and self-esteem whilst undergoing cancer treatment. Thank you, Barratt Homes North Scotland, for supporting us.”
David Palmer, Managing Director of Barratt and David Wilson Homes North Scotland, said: “Giving back to the communities in which we build has always been a priority across all Barratt Developments’ divisions. In the North of Scotland, our focus has been to raise funds for charities that continue to provide life-changing work across the region, such as the work carried out by Look Good Feel Better.
“It’s great to hear that the money raised will help support those affected by cancer in Aberdeen and the surrounding areas, providing them with the very best care and support.”
