Look Good Feel Better Appoints Benefit Cosmetics GM as Trustee

Look Good Feel Better, the UK-wide specialist cancer support charity focused on helping people to manage the cosmetic and physical impacts of their cancer treatment, is proud to announce the appointment of Sarah Harbon, General Manager of Benefit Cosmetics UK & Ireland, to its Board of Trustees. Sarah brings extensive expertise from the beauty and cosmetics industry and a wealth of experience in charity governance and leadership roles.

Sarah has been a passionate supporter of Look Good Feel Better for over a decade, championing the charity both personally and through Benefit Cosmetics’ philanthropic initiatives. This new appointment reflects her significant contributions to the organisation’s mission, and commitment in supporting and bringing charity governance experience in a range of support as a trustee to shape, provide guidance, and coach internal teams.

Speaking on Sarah’s appointment, Geoff Percy, Chair of Trustees, said:

Sarah has personally supported and championed Look Good Feel Better both directly and through Benefit Cosmetics for over 10 years. In 2024, Benefit is on track to deliver significant financial support as well as pledging thousands of product items for 2025, and volunteered for workshops, including those for teens and young adults. Sarah has continually promoted our partnership and signposted new opportunities, making her an invaluable asset to the charity. Her expertise, passion, and commitment will play a critical role in helping us grow and meet the challenges we face in the small charity sector.”

Sarah’s leadership at Benefit Cosmetics has not only driven philanthropic support but also mobilised the beauty industry to back Look Good Feel Better’s mission. Benefit has been a steadfast partner, since 2015 with the annual Bold is Beautiful philanthropy programme, providing vital resources, volunteers, and visibility for the charity’s work.

Commenting on her new role, Sarah Harbon said:

I am honoured to join the Board of Trustees for Look Good Feel Better, a charity that holds a special place in my heart. Having worked closely with the organisation for several years through Benefits philanthropy programme Bold Is Beautiful, I have seen firsthand the incredible impact they have in supporting women and men through some of their most challenging times. By offering comfort, confidence, and a sense of light during dark moments, Look Good Feel Better has been a lifeline to so many of our friends, families, and customers. I am deeply committed to furthering their mission and look forward to contributing to their vital work.”

Look Good Feel Better supports men, women and young adults undergoing cancer treatment through face-to-face and virtual workshops. Each workshop is led by industry-trained specialists and offers an invaluable opportunity to talk to people in a similar situation, whilst helping support people with their changing appearance. People leave the workshops feeling empowered, motivated and less isolated – allowing them to feel more confident during their cancer journey.

Sarah’s appointment comes at a pivotal time for Look Good Feel Better, which celebrates its 30th anniversary and Benefit’s upcoming 10th year anniversary. As the charity seeks to expand its reach and services, the involvement of dedicated industry leaders like Sarah is essential to navigating challenges, including securing product donations, maintaining workshop provisions and developing the next exciting phase for 2025.
