Movement and Mobility

Class:  Movement & Mobility with volunteer Belinda Butler

Duration: up to 1 hour, but actual exercise session runs for approximately 45 minutes. We leave time for questions at the end.

Frequency: once a month

Cost: FOC

Who can attend ? Anyone with a cancer diagnosis from point of diagnosis and beyond. IMPORTANT: it is recommended you do not attend a session until at least 12 weeks post-surgery and whilst the exercises covered are very gentle, please check with your nurse or consultant before booking that you are safe to do so.  Please also check it’s OK for you to join us if you are wearing a PICC line.

Overview of the class:

Belinda is a Hampshire based exercise teacher with over 30 years’ experience teaching a huge variety of exercise styles both in the water and on land and is an ex-competition Latin and Ballroom dancer!

Movement & Mobility was born in March 2020 during the first lockdown when life for all of us changed.  She needed to reach her customers online and set about creating online classes to reach ALL of her customer’s needs, especially those who she previously worked with in a hydrotherapy setting.  She knew she needed to keep them mobile and progressing on their health/life journeys.

This session is suitable for everyone, men and women, and offers progressive exercises with background music to move along with.  Belinda is passionate about helping you improve your quality of Movement & Mobility whilst having fun.  Her dance background and personality can’t help but lift you up when you are with her in this session.  The class is seated and standing using a chair for support.

All in the comfort of your own home.

What do you need to take part?  A non-swivel chair with no sides and some water to hand. If you have any hand weights, then please bring these or a couple of tins of food such as baked beans will work just as well.
