“We were united and yet strangers, but by the end of the session we’d become friends.”

Tanya, 44, lives in Ballyclare in Northern Ireland and was diagnosed with breast cancer in October 2023.  She attended her local Look Good Feel Better skincare and makeup workshop at MacMillans in Belfast in March 2024.

Tanya has shared her feedback with us following her session.

“I had an amazing time at my local Look Good Feel Better workshop. I booked a face-to-face workshop and initially was really nervous about going. I’d lost a lot of confidence during my cancer treatment and was nervous about being on my own with a new group of people.

“But I needn’t have worried. The two lovely volunteers, Dawn and Janet, put us at ease immediately. They expertly taught us about skincare and makeup and helped us if we were struggling with anything. They were so friendly and knowledgeable.

“We actually had a great laugh.  But most of all I got the opportunity to meet ladies who’d been through a similar experience to myself. We were united and yet strangers, but by the end of the session we’d become friends. The goodie bag and products were amazing. Since attending I’ve got my confidence back. I feel like a new woman.”
