“The whole workshop was uplifting, participants friendly and the volunteers patient and helpful”

Janet, from Derbyshire, attended a Look Good Feel Better skincare and make-up workshop at the Royal Derby Hospital MacMillan Unit late in 2023.  Janet had had cancer ten years ago which was treated quickly.  This time it took over six months of to-ing and fro-ing, compounded by frustrating delays, for her to be diagnosed with ovarian cancer.

Janet signed up for a workshop after reading about it in a leaflet.

“It was so helpful to be in the company of women who had been through cancer and to share time with others who had been through a similar experience. The workshop gave a lot of practical advice and tips, and the goody bags were marvellous, full of beautiful products which I am still using. The whole day was uplifting, participants friendly and the presenters patient and helpful, they made the day fun. I think anyone who has undergone treatment for cancer would benefit from joining a workshop and meeting other people to share experiences with.”

We are pleased to say that Janet is feeling better again now and she has signed up for rehabilitation classes which will help boost her health and mobility further.
